Logistics performs warehousing, logistics and distribution functions in
17 Government provided warehouses, storage yards, and outdoor storage
lots at Defense Distribution Depot, Warner Robins AFB, GA (DDWG). Buildings
376, 380, and 385 contain two million square feet with various automated
warehousing equipment. Building 368 contains the classified storage area.
Other buildings include warehousing in the C-130 propeller shop, gyro
shop, automated avionics, and HAZMART. Total covered and uncovered storage
space is
approximately 2,862,000 square feet and is used for avionics and oversize
partsage up to C-5 major assemblies. The box shop contains fully automated
equipment to fabricate MIL-STD compliant wood and cardboard shipping containers.
This effort involves approximately 289,000 national stock numbers, stored
in 400,000 locations utilizing 2,862,000 square feet of covered and uncovered
space. Yearly workload is approximately 1,100,000 issues and receipts.
Primary support is to the Robins Air Force Base (AFB) ALC depot maintenance
activity and the ACL’s world-wide customers. This also includes
the distribution support for materials supporting maintenance actions
for the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center. Worldwide support is provided
to customers in all the Armed Forces as well as foreign military services
and Government agencies. The largest customers included depot-level maintenance
activities and active and reserve tenant units located at Robins Air Force
Base. Warehousing, distribution and delivery services are provided in
support of depot-level maintenance for the F-15, C-5, C-130, C-141 aircraft,
Air Force Avionics Technological Repair Center and operational units.

Logistics uses Government-provided automated information systems, including
the Defense Distribution Standard (DDS) System, in the performance of
these tasks. All personnel are fully trained, certified and knowledgeable
of the automated systems in their areas and for which they are responsible.
